# 6-Tap

> Provisioning guide for Android tablets and phones with 6-Tap method.

This guide describes provisioning of general Android devices (tablet/phone) with Android 7+.
If you are provisioning a digital signage display with Android (Philips, Sharp, Benq, Elo, Giada, Panasonic, ProDVX), please use the dedicated guide for that device.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Factory reset">
    Factory reset the device. On the "Welcome" screen, tap 6 times anywhere.

  <Step title="Connect to the network">
    Connect the device to cellular or Wi-Fi and click Next.

    <Note>This step may not appear on Android 9 and above.</Note>

    When the camera opens, scan the QR code generated in the portal.

    <Note>Some devices may show the scan screen more than once. Scan again and continue.</Note>

    To complete installation of the signageOS app, click Accept & Continue.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Permissions">
    Allow the app to modify system settings and continue by clicking Resolve.

    After that, the phone should show a screen preparing the app to work.

  <Step title="Done">
    Your device will start and display short verification hash.
