Raspberry Pi 4 & 5 Raspbian instalation
Prerequisites
- Raspberry Pi 4 or 5
- MicroSD card (recommended SD card size is 32GB and above, as fast as possible)
- Raspberry Pi imager software for flashing -> Windows download, version for MAC download
Installation steps
Download a system image
- Download Raspberry Pi imager and install it.
- Connect an SD card reader with the SD card inside.
- Open Raspberry Pi imager and select Raspberry Pi Device, Operation system "RASPBERRY PI OS (64BIT) with desktop" nad storage.
Initial Boot
Once it's flashed, plug the SD card into the Raspberry Pi, connect the HDMI, ethernet and power cords. It's important to connect the Raspberry Pi in a proper order, so all components used are safe.
The initial boot is creating system partitions and preparing the environment. It can take a couple of minutes!
- Install Raspbian OS
- Create User and password
- Skip update
- Connect to the Wifi, if you are not using Ethernet cable, manual here: link
- Open Terminal and type:
- wget https://linux-package-repository.signageos.io/debian/install-app.sh
- chmod +x install-app.sh
- sudo ./install-app.sh
- Wait until the installation is finished, it may take a few minutes
- Device will reboot
- After reboot application will start automatically
Once the display starts with the signageOS App, you will see a short Verification code in the middle of the screen.
